This is a thread about the mechanics of Falcon's gentleman.

The information here is not new but I think it's pretty cool so I wanted to highlight it.

If you don't know, Falcon's gentleman is when you do the third jab without triggering his rapid jab. Image To trigger a rapid jab, an input counter must reach a configured value.

In NTSC, that value is 4.

The counter increments both when you press AND release A while in a Jab animation.

To jab thrice you need to press 3 times and release 2. That's 5... so always rapid jab?

To collect some data for ranked, I have **temporarily** modified the matchmaking in unranked to have a bit tighter matching at all skill ranges.

This means it's possible queue times might go up a bit, especially if you are very high ranked.

Lmk if you notice any differences. It still expands fairly quickly though so if you're in queue longer, you're more likely to experience a skill mismatch.

Additionally even if you're not in queue for long, your opponent might have been.

So don't expect skill-matched matches all the time either.

Love how all the toxic quitter-outers come out in force when I increase the time to quit out by a measly 30 frames.

Same thing when I added hold z to disconnect. Quitting out of a game should not feel rewarding. I'm hoping that by making it half a second it feels longer for the person quitting out than the person being quit out on given human reaction time is about 250 ms.

Maybe before you quit out, consider staying.

New Dolphin release: v2.4.0
