I can't let this utter nonsense lie by @ProfJWR, as it’s actually dangerous and could harm your health. John Robertson was a Professor(!) of “Media and Politics” at the University of West Scotland (basically Paisley college plus bits). He has a verified career long output of less than 10 published papers and a H-index of 5, which should tell you a lot if you know anything about academic impact factors.

x.com/ProfJWR/status… Robertson blocked me after I called out one of his more egregious pieces of nonsense (last year if I recall correctly). Anyway, down to business

The video attached to “Talking-up Scotland”’s post is about infections at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. Isolation wards for immunocompromised patients were not fit for purpose, because the ventilation and water systems installed were inadequate, as they were contaminated with bacteria and fungi that cause serious disease in patients with little or no immune function.

I asked @grok about AI- generated images that specifically target women and girls. "Have AI-generated images of undressed children or women been produced by AI systems other than Grok? If so, which ones and on which social media platforms have they been shared? How does X.com’s use of AI to generate images being available only to paying users help to prevent abuse?" AI Systems Involved in Generating Such Images

Stable Diffusion: This open-source image generator, developed by Stability AI, has been widely used to create explicit and realistic imagery, including undressed depictions of women and synthetic child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Its training dataset (LAION) was found to include thousands of explicit photos of children, making it easier for the model to produce harmful content like nudes from text prompts or by altering clothed photos of real people. Older versions remain embedded in various tools and have been linked to generating non-consensual intimate images.pbs.org

Genomis AI: A generative AI app that allowed users to create and alter images, including explicit content. It produced tens of thousands of pornographic images, some depicting sexualized women (e.g., celebrities in explicit scenarios) and others involving de-aged figures or potential CSAM. The app's features, like face-swapping and image alteration, enabled "undressing" effects, though it claimed to prohibit illegal content.wired.com

"Nudify" Apps (e.g., ClothOff and similar tools): These are specialized AI apps designed for digitally removing clothing from photos, often marketed for "fun" but misused to generate non-consensual nudes. For instance, ClothOff was involved in a case where it created hyperrealistic undressed images of a 15-year-old girl from her clothed photos. Such apps have been used by minors and adults to target both women and children, with reports of peers generating nudes of classmates.americanbar.org +2

Other Generative AI Tools: Google's Imagen was trained on a similar problematic dataset but withheld from public release due to risks of generating inappropriate content, including pornographic imagery. General reports highlight unnamed AI tools used in sextortion schemes to create explicit images of children for coercion.pbs.org +1

Chagossians are the descendants of African slaves brought to the archipelago by the French in 1793. The Chagossians are mainly of Afro-Creole origin and Christian (mainly Roman Catholic). Mauritius is a majority Hindu country with 60% of the population of South Asian origin. Mauritian Creoles trace their origins to the plantation owners and slaves who were brought by the French to work the sugar fields from India.

I think @patrickkmaguire didn’t realise what a hornet’s nest he’d kicked when he casually mentioned Leonie Mellinger’s presence on Christmas Eve 2020 at Labour Party HQ. Apparently she’s been voice coaching him since 2017. I’d be asking for my money back 🧵independent.co.uk/news/uk/politi… It’s hard to know why Keir Starmer chose Ms Mellinger for this arduous task, although he may have been beguiled by her talents as a Shakespearean actress.

In 2018 plans were started to grade-separate the Sheriffhall Roundabout on the Edinburgh bypass. As anyone who uses it will tell you, it’s regularly clogged up for miles at peak times, and even at weekends. Image Needless to say, despite Edinburgh City and SE Scotland Region Deal funding (in total £1.3 billion) of £120 million for the upgrade, the project has been mired in SNP government bureaucracy for over 4 years… Image

The Scottish Police Authority is meeting today. A number of issues have been raised about the Hate Crime bill. The first is in relation to the potential drain on already overstretched police resources. CC Jo Farrell makes this clear early in her statement. @RoddyQC Farrell then goes on to point out that there are already drains on their resources, in the form of training and workshops. The surprise announcement is the creation of 500 'hate crime champions' to advise other officers, presumably based on the 'guidance'.

A quick rundown on some of Qatar's more terroristy residents, who are making a seriously good living out of the UN aid money that keeps getting thrown at Gaza. Ismail Haniyeh and Khaled Mashal are worth $4 billion each.
nypost.com/2023/11/07/new… Abu Marzuk is worth a mere £3 billion. Qatar, a country that funds "Gaza" to the tune of $120 million and $480 million per year. How much of it actually gets there is questionable, since long before 7th October, most Gazans lived in abject poverty. Image

On 12th March 2020, there was a COBR meeting at 1.15pm between the UK Govt and the 3 devolved administrations. Michael Gove was questionedby Jamie Dawson about the discussions around mass gatherings. The Scotland-France rugby international was held on the 8th March. An elderly French national with cancer who had attended the rubgy match died in the RIE on the night of the 12th. This was the first offical death from COVID in Scotland. The COBR meeting finished just after 3pm that day.

It's becoming increasingly difficult to believe a single word Gordon MacDonald says. This is not the first time he has spread falsehoods on social media. Not just manipulation of data, just outright lies.
Image The ScotGov crime survey shows over 2/3rd of people people think crime levels are about the same. Nearly 80% think it's the same or worse (see I can play that game too). Image

The attitude of the SNP towards the UK and Scottish COVID enquiries sums up for me the corrupt, dismissive and devious way Sturgeon, Yousaf, Swinney et al have attempted to hang on to power at any cost. The only thing the leadership of the SNP is interested in is themselves. The same attitude is displayed in their approach to the victims of Sam Eljamel @eljamelInquiry and to @LouiseSlorance and others whose loved ones died in the QEUH. Self-interest and self-preservation is paramount, and damn everyone else.

Interesting to note that a lot of the signs are manufactured by 'Friends of Al-Aqsa", an organisation founded by Ismail Patel.... Friends of Al-Aqsa (FOA) describe themselves as an NGO. They are in fact another pro-Hamas front masquerading as a human rights NGO. foa.org.uk/whoweare

STV is about to open its SNP leaders debate, with the sharp incisive mind of Colin Mackay dissecting the issues with the three candidates. Here's my question suggestions for Colin, for each of the candidates. God it's boring. Not one question other than "independence". I could have sworn most people in Scotland have already expressed the view that they wish our Government would concentrate the issues that affect them, rather than the constitutional wankfest they are obsessed by.

John Swinney being 'economical with the truth' again, selectively quoting the @AuditorGenScot's report to pretend all is well in Bute House, saying teh accounts aren't unlawful is hardly a ringing endorsement. Here's some other quotes for @JohnSwinney and the publicto chew over. ImageImageImage Financial Support for Private Companies part shows the true ineptitiude of @scotgov. The most glaring example is the £250 million and rising costs of the rusty ferries, now valued at £78 million! In total, @scotgov's spaffed a minimum of £275 million, maybe a lot more... Image

The average age of CMAL ferries is 24 years. The oldest one is 46 and a third of the fleet is 30 years old or more. This problem is not going away soon. The SNP government has seriously underinvested in the fleet, including spares. Over 90,000 islanders rely on these services. Serial breakdowns and dry docking for repairs has left island routes seriously depleted at times. First, the 21-year old MV Hebrides earlier this year uk.news.yahoo.com/apologies-weat…
