You know how Harvard’s Peabody museum announced that they have hair samples taken from native children in collections? Well I was at Harvard for an artist residency at their ArtLab a month before they announced that and found out my great grandmother’s hair in that collection The hair samples were taken from my grandmother while she was in boarding school. Thankfully I was able to see hers and pray with it. The timing of it all was intense and interesting

In 2017 I went to Palestine as a member of an artist delegation organized by @Dreamdefenders. What I witnessed was settler colonialism and genocide happening in way that mirrored what I know about how the US government enacted genocide on my people We visited Palestinian families, artists & orgs. The trip was transformative & life changing for me. As a Lakota person I was able to see first hand & identify the many similarities between how Israel is colonizing Palestine and how my homelands were & are colonized in the US
