Do Black and other PoC creators know how much their work meant to a lot of poor white kids?

The way we grew up didn't fit the narrative of Whiteness that our media wanted to sell, so you all were the only characters and writers dealing with the questions and struggles we had. (And others we didn't, obviously.)

Everything from bits about parents obsessed with not wasting electricity, to struggle meals, to parents and elders whipping kids with extension cords - that was life for many of us, and you all were the only ones talking about it relatably.
