Rewatching SNL through the years and Jesus Christ some of the people and skits were awful. There were some solid actors though...

Bill Hader, Will Ferrell, Phil Hartman, Chris Farley, Norm Macdonald, Eddie Murphy, and Amy Poehler are the big stand outs over the years. (I think Amy was able to handle more interesting characters than Tina Fey)

I remember when I was in middle school I was a pretty good kid and never got in trouble. I took shop class and as the teacher explained everything to us my Gobstopper fell out of my pocket and hit the ground. It bounced like a super ball on the concrete... So I caught it and tossed it, happy that it bounced back to me so forcefully. I did it a few more times and then looked forward to see the entire class starting at me. The Gobstopper was incredibly loud when hitting the wall and I didn't think about it.

YouTube reviewers can be the worst parasitic content you can create. Worse than "reaction" content because in those cases if they aren't funny or adding anything they don't take off, but "reviewers" have the posturing of an undeserved sense of legitimacy. If you can edit video and do basic sound work in Audacity you can create a review channel... if you don't mind selling your soul. It'll take time but with a decent gimmick and consistency you'll grow. But at what cost?

They always say Ayn Rand "caused damage", but no one caused more damage recently than Bell Hooks with her nonsense.

The YouTube landscape is so bad right now that it's nearly impossible for a new channel to make any money.

Reviews/criticism used to be the staple of the site, but they crack down on anything with even a modicum of copyrighted content. One could theoretically just make Reddit and reaction videos, but that sucks. Maybe a "Read the Comments" type video but that requires making other videos first. It's a vicious cycle.

Watching Naruto and it's amazing how much better the first main arc was to basically anything from Shippuden.

By the way, there's possible foreshadowing in the Haku fight with Sasuke saying he'd never seen handsigns with one hand before. Then later he loses his arm. lol I also like the first time Naruto taps into the kyuubi's power. It holds up. Seriously impactful.

So in general, the cases that were thrown out about voter fraud never got to the actual point of investigation. One judge even challenged one complaint as hearsay and the one that wasn't hearsay was "too vague". It's baffling. The Wayne County complaint in particular included an allegation that Democratic party officials were alone to "duplicate ballots". This means that they count it as one or another because it's hard to read or something.

It was thrown out without investigation.

I heard someone discussing "white privilege" in a corporate setting. They said it isn't the same as "racism" and that it means that people gain some slight benefit from their skin color.

I really don't like this, and I'll explain why... His argument was that people shouldn't apologize for their privilege, but they should DO something with it.

Well, what is that? What should people do with it?

No answer in the session. Do you know why? Because it would reinforce the idea that white privilege == racism.

I agree that forcing children to read garbage "literature" is sucky, but this guy's sorry attempt to explain that proves he learned nothing with this English degree and has little wisdom when it comes to Education.

Kids should still learn Greek myths, Homer, and the like.

How to solve internet censorship:

1. Support a "ban limit" on length of time an individual can be banned from any company or website. This should apply online or in person, possibly different measures for both, with an exception for restraining orders. 2. Support "Terms of Service" updates... ToS's that ban certain language or activity must have specific language that tells users what they should avoid to avoid being punished.

STORY TIME THREAD

Back in the days of the pioneers a small settlement grew large. Then, part of the population didn't like that they had no input on the governance so they looked to move to other settlements.

1/X One settlement was perfect. They had a similar culture but more freedoms for the settlers. But because of the freedoms a bunch of "less than desirable" people also came and settled in that place. Not wanting to be associated with them, they returned to the old settlement.
