Its time for my take on the @SolarGeoeng. Firstly, I understand signatories may have signed for various reasons, but what I am critiquing is the exact wording of what you signed rather than your reasoning. I think such focus on the reality of the declaration is important. What I support: Broadly point 4. I am not necessarily in favour of Solar Geoengineering not being an option to deploy, but I think the inertia that having an agreement not to deploy in place MAY be useful at making governance processes perhaps better and people not "rushing" into

Been thinking about solar geoengineering research lately and what might be necessary for us to get it going, so here are a few thoughts. They are only partially formed, so please don't take them as gospel, and I have relatively low confidence in them myself. 1. We need to promote better and diverse narratives of why we have an ethical obligation to carry out research. But, at least in the first instance, make these accessable. Op-eds, talks, social media engagement.
