Just a reminder that Focus on the Family is okay with destroying your kids as long as YOU stay married.
They know their articles on kids and divorce are wrong and misleading, but they don't fix or remove them.
Can I give evidence for that? Yes I can. 1. Focus on the Family's article on pedophilia discourages divorce and actually says "God hates divorce," but not "God hates child abuse." Really. 😠 lifesavingdivorce.com/fotfpedophilia

Why we married bad spouses despite seeing "red flags." [THREAD]
1. The person we married covered up their bad behavior. They didn't reveal it. If exposed, they excused it.
2. Being in love is intoxicating. We didn't want to see it.
3. We had no idea how bad it could become.
4. We were given dozens of messages that marriage would fix them. They'd settle down, they'd become more loving, they'd be more committed. The ring on their finger would mean something to them.
5. We were told to "forgive and forget." We weren't allowed reject them as a mate.

@5pointpastor@Pat_Doucet Yes, thank you for being charitable in this conversation. I care about both men and women victims. I focus on behavior a bit more than labels. I've seen people decide not to divorce as a result of coming to my groups, and I applaud that too.
1/@5pointpastor@Pat_Doucet Certainly there are victims that wish their church had "forced" the abusive to behave better. That's an impossible task. The best the Puritans could do was to fine abusers, and eventually okay divorces. I don't think the church gets a vote.
