Great piece in the @starphoenix by Nick Pearce on labor shortage in #Saskatchewan. This applies across North America. All the factors Nick mentioned are correct, and I’d like to add one more: leadership attitude, a 🧵 thestarphoenix.com/business/help-… I don’t know what you call it, but I see it in opinions like
- “Young workers don’t work as hard as I did.”
- “I did my time, so should they.”
- “I’m not going to let them use my expensive [insert time-saving tool of choice here], until they learn to do it the hard way!”

On my way out after a weekend and three games in Toronto.
Some thoughts on this.
1 - its an oddessy to get to the ballpark in Toronto. Suspect this is the same in many cities. @UPexpress is great express from the west, but limited express options from north and east.
1/ 2 - travelling downtown by car/taxi/Uber is pointless. Limited parking, terrible traffic, poor traffic management. Again, same with most cities.
3 - nearby stay impossible. $600 /night at nearby hotels, & @Airbnb just flushed 100’s bookings cbc.ca/amp/1.6533868 2/
