In 2021 I was essentially a homeschooling mom. My kids are enrolled in public school, but teachers were so overburdened+ remote systems so ad-hoc (nobody's fault, who could have foreseen this necessity) that I ended up having to cover most material with them myself. An Experience The latter half of 2020 and the first half of 2021 were my least productive year ever, writing-wise. I had to cut my workload in half to accommodate remote school. Hubs did help, but this being a pandemic, we had to prioritize his job, which is the one that comes with healthcare.

Kamala--envisioned as a feminized iteration of Kamal--is not a real-real name in Arabic or Urdu; the closest one can get and still be grammatically okay is Kamila, which has a slightly different (though related) meaning. The explanation is: I overthink names.
