As someone who parroted Democrat’s talking points on immigration “we have to live up to our values as a nation of immigrants and laws” for 4 yrs as spox for CHC & OFA, I want to apologize for believing them. 🧵 Truth is that our immigration laws are working exactly as the eugenicists who wrote them intended: to keep out anyone but white Western Europeans or “whites” in general. 2/8

The silver lining of observing immigration proceedings in New York City is that, at least here, when ICE lawyers try to deport our loved ones, attorneys are there to help. put on a suit and knotted his red, white and blue tie. He pinned an American flag to his lapel. He was ready to become an American... 'I feel like a newborn baby...Today is like a new life.
