Gaels for Fair Play has contacted senior officials at the Dept of Sport, Sport Ireland & LGFA in relation to the fundung announcement for the Women in Sport Programme.
The permitting by the LGFA of males into the female category completely undermines the ethos of the programme. We have contacted Helen O’Rourke, Chief Executive, at @LadiesFootball. @cathmartingreen, Minister for Sport and @ThomasByrneTD, Minister of State for responsibility for Sport at @DeptCultureIRL.
@UnaMaySport, CEO, and John Foley, Chairperson, at @sportireland.

It is essential that women and girls have fairness, safety, privacy & dignity in our Gaelic Games. We know from Sport Ireland's recent transgender guidance that the vast majority of people involved in sport here believe the integrity of the female category should be upheld.
