My friend showed up w/her BFF. She told BFF about me being a NYT bestselling author & guy next to her started calling bullshit. So I gave him my business card & a magnet w/the cover for PAN as proof. He holds it up & says... (wait for it) 1/
“Does THIS look like a book that would be on the NYT bestseller list?”
Friends, I was fine that he didn’t believe that I was a bestselling author.
I was even fine that he didn’t believe I’m an author at all. (Ok maybe I cared a *little* bc it’s something I’m proud of.) 2/
My father was a dog handler in the Vietnam War. He and his war dog, Tiger, worked bravely side by side, serving our country in the most controversial war of our time. Years later, at the young age of 39, my dad paid the ultimate price... 1/
