So here is the synopsis of my dissertation as promised. The Title is:

An Assessment of the Potential Impact of Contemporary Attitudes to Jamaican Language on Access to Justice Among Basilect Dominant/Monolingual Jamaicans. The background for this choice is shared in the introduction. While doing court reports for NMLS, I sat in on a civil trial where the claimant was being cross-examined by an attorney who refused to shift from Standard Jamaica English to Jamaican Language.

So the #MenAreTrash Forum ended a while ago. I have thoughts that I will share shortly but for clarity, I will respect the confidentiality of what was said and speak about my general views of what went right, what went wrong and what could be improved. Soon come. As stated originally, I went with an open heart and mind to the #MenAreTrash Forum because I wanted to give men the opportunity to do what we feminists, activists and conscious people have told them to do: hold their fellow men accountable. The forum seemed well intended.

Hi. Hello. @JamaicaConstab and @mns_jamaica, I would like a word about the behaviour of police officers in recent times and this seeming obsession with "exposing" whatever displays of queerness they stumble upon in their line of work. The first one I can recall is when they were called to address a domestic disturbance among a group of men living together. The police seemed polite and respectful but sought to video the interaction. What videoing it added to their investigation I don't know.
