I know folks are gonna say Biden turned his back on the people who elected him, but the people who voted for a man who proudly chooses to do nothing for them were a mixed bag. If you were not in the contributor class, you were ultimately low priority to him. That’s why stimulus checks, the child tax credit and other measures were so easy to unceremoniously discontinue.

I don’t want to hear y’all say Fred Hampton’s name, Assata Shakur’s name, Huey P. Newton’s name or anyone’s for real. All it takes to impress you is HBCU attendance and Black faces conducting imperialism. Fucking reactionary identity reductionists. You should be shamed since you don’t have the sense to be ashamed.

And don’t forget, many of these working class parents aren’t working from home. They often don’t have the option. So if they can’t “supervise” distanced education, they’ll be blamed for learning gaps. But what options do they have? Who foots their bills if they become full time stay at home parents? Do they just work nights? Who handles other tasks around the house as they become unpaid educators, which in my case, I’ve been doing for a while?

Teachers are the working class. This is the ruling class endangering them to get other working class people back to their positions of production. As both groups are underpaid and disregarded by “decision makers” the people who kids are being rushed back to class do decide this.

The same ruling class that decides to underpay teachers, understaff learning facilities and entirely shut down schools in areas where they want to “develop” doesn’t even let their kids attend schools in these areas, let alone care about the fate of these children.

Building that missing political acuity isn't gonna come from go along to get along politics. Black people are in a unique, yet not unique, position of watching a nation prepare to celebrate. The same nation that has continued to trample over human rights of African people across the globe.

I mean, this nation was established through the stealing from dehumanizing, and brutalizing the Indigenous and then through subjugation, dehumanization and torture of Africans. Fascism’s “rise” is always taking place here. That’s why so many of y’all look goofy for these displays of patriotism. Knowing history is one thing, but applauding these fucking barbarians the way folks do is disgusting.

Blackness alone isn’t going to be enough to warrant support. You really have to investigate principles and politics. When they don’t align with what you know is right, you can’t ignore it for solidarity’s sake. A motherfucker who is out for self is not someone you bring into your circle.
