Did you know that Black neighborhoods in Chicago that were redlined in the 1900s face hotter climates because of lack of green investments? 🧵👇🏽
#TimetoTHRIVE Black neighborhoods that were redlined in the 1930s have far fewer trees, which help to cool air and absorb heat. As a result, poor Black neighborhoods can be up to 10° F hotter than white suburbs. This is the direct result of decades of anti-Black disinvestment.
