If it’s misinformation, why aren’t you removing those tweets? Warning labels don’t do anything to prevent the spread of dangerous misinformation. @TwitterSafety For some people, those red warning labels are big green arrows pointing to something they’ll want to recirculate here and elsewhere. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but there are coordinated campaigns to spread this stuff as widely as possible.

One of the major players that hasn’t gotten much notice in the GOP’s coup attempt is the Thomas More Society, the fanatical religious right “culture war” legal group. They’re involved at every level, right up to the White House. This Christian supremacist group has been involved in many of the worst things that have happened in the US: the effort to destroy Planned Parenthood, to criminalize abortion, to force creationism into schools. Their ultimate goal is to make the US a theocracy.

Today I removed all traces of Facebook from Little Green Footballs. No more share buttons, no more share counts, no more SDK loading. I'm done. Facebook is a wholly malignant influence on human society and I want nothing more to do with it. I'm under no illusions that this will hurt Facebook, or have any real effect on them at all; they're way too enormous for that. But people who visit Little Green Footballs will no longer have to worry about being tracked and marketed by Facebook there.

One of the most successful white supremacist organizations in the US is FAIR, the “Federation for American Immigration Reform.” Republicans cite their bogus “studies” all the time, their commercials run on mainstream TV, and news articles refer to them with no context. FAIR was founded by infamous white supremacist John Tanton, and they’ve spun off a variety of similar stealth white nationalist groups like NumbersUSA and the Center for Immigration Studies.

Trump will continue doing everything possible to hamstring America’s response to COVID-19, forcing people to go back to work even as they begin getting sick and dying in numbers that dwarf today’s terrible statistics. Forcing children to go to school even as they, their teachers and their parents begin getting sick in appalling numbers. Ignoring all advice from scientists and medical experts. We have a huge problem that isn’t being talked about.

This: the president is nuts, and he’s out of control. And he’s been endangering the country since he was elected, in countless ways. That’s just a fact, and I’m far from the only one to point it out.
