This morning the @CBC, a public broadcaster, played an ad from a consortium of oil sands companies on @TheCurrentCBC, and then let the CEO of one of the companies talk, unchallenged, for 18 minutes about their highly questionable technology to reduce their carbon emissions 1/12 The guest, Alex Pourbaix, is CEO of Cenovus, 1/6 oil sands companies that form the Pathways Alliance. The $16.5 billion(1) technology they are relying on to cut their MASSIVE carbon emissions is carbon capture utilization & storage (CCUS), or carbon capture & storage (CCS) 2/12
