Mainstream Democrats heavily demonized the Bernie bros of 2016, who were, as demonstrated by their vote, sympathetic to working class struggles and were part of a coalition that also included a growing Latino base — both groups, who voted for a socialist, are now with Trump
Some on the left are absolutely furious this morning to see the working class coalition they built eight years ago fall to Trump. In the 2020 Dem primary, Sanders’ coalition expanded a lot with working class women, also seemingly forfeiting those gains in 2024 to Trump
