Thought I’d start a thread of the amazing murals of Jersey City, @NJGov. I’ll add to it whenever I get a chance. First up, The Heights.

Not seeing enough on my TL about the centennial of the Negro Leagues. So, starting a thread with a picture of 1919 Chicago American Giants and the team’s owner/manager Rube Foster who helped establish the Negro National Leagues on Feb. 13, 1920.
I’ll add something new each day
Also, adding a link to the Negro League Baseball Museum (@nlbmprez), one of the coolest museums in the US. They also have a really cool program where they will donate a ticket to a student for every 10$ donated. nlbm.com

World and Global History teachers, there is NO REASON the number of lessons you teach on the Haitian Revolution should be less than the number you teach on the French Revolution. It should probably be more!
If your looking for resources to expand your lessons on the Haitian Revolution in secondary World/Global History, start with the wonderful documentary EGALITÉ FOR ALL. For more info and some resources, visit: fsp.duke.edu/events/docuhis…

I am looking forward to the conversation about #13th tonight. Because we are going to extend the conversation of the film between #histflix & #docuhistory over two screening over several days, I am going to keep a long thread connected to the film.
I think this explanation of the use of the language of the US Constitution to oppress people by @TheTattooedProf is something we often over look when we teach USH K-12. To all of our detriment! #histflix
