Definitive Nuro FMVSS Exemption Take:

Despite finding that the Nuro R2 is *safer* than the vehicle Nuro is currently testing on public roads, NHTSA mandated Nuro comply with new reporting requirements, ensuring that other AV companies will avoid this process in the future.

1/ Nuro requested 3 minor common sense exemptions for their driverless delivery vehicle:

1) Removal of external/internal mirrors
2) No glazing for front windshield (intended for the safety of occupants)
3) No rear camera 'linger' requirements

After the Micromobility Conference lovefest, I spent the entire next day traversing San Francisco on every available product I could find.

It was endless series of micro-fails.
