I've noticed an uptick of anti-Jewish hostility in certain Christian circles recently and I think there are a few causes:
1. Reaction against 90s pop dispensationalism that often indicated a higher regard for the state of Israel than for Palestinian Christians. 2. Reaction against a rather naive view of how much scorn many in Judaism have for Jesus.
3. Youthful bravado
4. The error of thinking "the more forbidden the idea, the truer it must be."

A quick take on the Boebert thing:
Democrats are allowed to be crass and corrupt. Republicans aren't.

This is a double standard. But it's a double standard that has been internalized not only by the left but also by most independents and many on the right. You can find this thinking not only in political discourse but also in elections. You can show Trump-hating suburban women that Biden is just as dishonest and disgusting. It doesn't matter to them. It won't sink it. Trump's sins stick to him. Biden's don't. Those are the rules.

People who say they aren't disgusted by Dylan Mulvaney's female-minstrel performance are either liars or perverts. Mulvaney is objectively disgusting. He is revolting to the very core. People who say otherwise have either consumed the same evil or will endure just about anything in order to avoid saying The Wrong Words.

Believing you can't have peace until you carve up your own body is one step behind believing you can't have peace until you carve up the bodies of your supposed enemies.

Obviously not all gender-confused people will take that second step. But that's the trajectory. The left has spent years teaching mentally ill people that anyone who fails to validate them is an enemy bent on eradicating them.

We should expect more "it was them or me" behavior from said unwell people.

I have several:
1. Living together before marriage is training yourself for divorce, not marriage 2. Premarital counseling is overrated because it won't work if you marry a lunatic and you won't need it if you marry a non-lunatic

Thanks, Erich. The wild thing about this debate is that there is probably no one on earth who can beat me in a "who has a lower regard for the LCMS as a corporation" contest. I do not love the synod as a 501c3. It put my grandfather in an early grave and has grievously hurt several generations of my family.

I do, however, love our confession of faith.

I ain't got time to read all the essays so let me give my final thoughts here.

I think this whole thing got messy in large part because this is a project with no audience. Many of the articles read like they're halfway written for laity and halfway written for pastors. Likewise, the marketing gives it the air of official doctrinal authenticity but many of the articles are a bit too speculative and open-questiony.

I just read the article on LGBT issues in the Controversial Catechism Thingamabob. There are a couple spots where the phrasing is not terribly helpful and employs a bit too much verbiage of the left.

Aside from that, it's entirely pastoral and orthodox. The worst instance was a bit of poor phrasing that seemed to imply homosexual fornication and heterosexual fornication are of the same nature. They certainly are not. The former is an abuse of a natural desire. The latter is the manifestation of unnatural desires.
