A few myths to dispel: 1. Teachers are not paid for the holidays.
You read that right, teachers are not paid for the holidays. They could be classed as TOIL for the unpaid overtime they routinely do, but actually they are just not paid (despite many working, prepping etc.).
2. Teachers are not striking because they are greedy. They are striking because they are not paid commensurate with the responsibilities of the work they do and moreover because they schools they work in cannot afford to fund the Government's suggested pay offer.
