Back during the initial years of India's independence, the Madras Presidency that eventually became the Madras State was the poorest part of India. The Tamil regions in particular were extremely poor.
People barely got food to eat, set aside feed their families.

1/ The Indian subcontinent has been having an issue with skin color for ages. While it was there BEFORE European colonialism, it went out of control AFTER India (and Pakistan) gained independence.
I'll focus more on India since I've personal experience there unlike Pakistan.

Look at image #1. The thick route is what Indian ships take to reach from, say Mumbai in West India to Chennai or Kolkata in East India. Going around Sri Lanka means paying Sri Lanka a hefty sum to get cargo through.

Indians aren't the cheap labor like in the 20th century. People in the Gulf hired Indians due to: 1. Goodwill earned by India. Squandered by Modi and gang. 2. Cheap labor.

One word of advice: Learn history before talking out of your ass.
Q: When was the decision to give Katchatheevu to Sri Lanka taken?
A: 1964. Under Ramnad MLA Shanmuga Rajeswara Sethupathi, it was already decided by Congress. DMK came to power in 1967.
Q: Who was the CM of Madras State back then?
A: Bhaktavatchalam, Congress.
Q: How was this decision taken?
A: Indira Gandhi decided this with her cabinet. She did NOT consult either the state govt or the parliament as per procedure.
UBI is nothing but the idea that every citizen, employed or unemployed, working or retired, receives some minimum money from the govt in order to meet expenses.
Sounds good, right? But it's impractical. How? I shall explain the same here.
