Dominion Voting Systems has been awarded a $107M contract to replace GA’s voting machines before the 2020 elections. The current machines are DREs that do not produce a paper trail, making GA one of only a few states without paper records of its elections. The new machines are touchscreen-based like the DREs, but act as ballot-marking devices that print out a ballot with each voter’s selections. Despite the addition of a paper trail, there is opposition to the new machines.
