(THREAD) In the same email, Dean Gay outlines the establishment of the “Harvard College Visiting Professorship in Ethnicity, Indigeneity, and Migration” - which is supposed to bring visiting professors to teach for a year. Here is why we call BS: 1. These visiting professorships are precarious positions and are insulting to our demands for long-term, tenured faculty of color that will help us establish a concrete Ethnic Studies department starting NOW.
