Remember how Fox were planning all those X-Men & FF spin-off films before Disney bought them,Sony doesn't get the warning signs in front of them. Some people won't admit that Sony is gonna eventually lose the rights to Spider-Man and his characters one way or another.
Sony right now it literally in 20th Century Fox's shadow,Sony Pictures in it's endgame and Apple,Netflix,or any company that has their Movie & TV Studio on their watch gonna end up buying them out regardless. Sony just increasing their value of their Film division before they do.

If Sony & Tom Rothman was ghosting Disney for months prior to the fallout of the #SpiderMan deal since Disney originally wanted 25% in the beginning before the whole 50/50,70/30,& 75/25 offer got out it proves that Sony exaggerated their story when they spoke about it.
It would also prove that Sony been lying about this whole situation because of them literally been the most talkative and Disney haven't even said a word not even once. Plus Sony being too cocky, ignorant,& keep throwing people under the bus to protect themselves.

I still have a feeling Sony's film division gonna end up like FOX maybe in the next 3 years or less. Even tho they did made $1 billion at the box office from Spider-Man:FFH w/Marvel Studios help and they got some movies coming out it might not be enough.
They are gonna still have a hard time to catch up to WB,Universal, and let's not get started on Disney. Paramount is also in that same scenario but not as worse as Sony. But it's not surprising that their film division ain't getting better even tho they have a few hits.
