A young woman called Phoenix Netts, was tragically murdered and today her murdered admitted to her crime.

metro.co.uk/2021/04/21/wom… The victim’s family were put under added strain by MP @jessphillips trying to get some transphobic mileage out of this tragedy because she’d been mislead by transphobes who wanted to believe that this crime had been committed by a trans woman.

Privilege is a funny old thing, people like JHB have no problem with the privilege inherent is going to a private school with superior facilities, accesss to professional coaches, being driven to events or just having the right shoes because that’s what their kids have. Working class kids can’t compete in school sports with the kids of the JHBs of this world but they refuse to acknowledge that. They’re always so focused in hoovering up all available resources that they can’t understand that some kid might want just play rounders comfortably.

I as so busy smirking at the crank fodder in the first sentence that I forgot to mention the truth in the second, this isn’t about Sarah. As feminists have know for decades, seeing the murder of every woman only in terms of its individual tragedy and not a genocide is precisely what gets us where we are.

Some TERFS are annoyed that the money collected by Reclaim These Streets will go to woman’s charities that are inclusive of trans women as they would rather fund organisations that would see trans women who experience abuse, go without support. They’re so used to giving money to groups that are unable to gain charitable status that they didn’t mind too much about the Gift Aid aspect or lack of transparency about where the money would end up.

They’re adults, it’s none of my business what they do with their hard earned.

I’m being flippant but this is the first anti violence against women movement to be taken seriously in the U.K. Some changes could actually result from this but the TERFS are so enraged by the thought trans women could also benefit, they’d rather destroy it. This mumnutter thread is really worth a read.

TLDR: Pages 1-3 seeing what we’re seeing
Page 4, realisation that it was mainstream/inclusive
Pages 4-7 tone becomes mixed
7+ violence against women is fine, as long as they’re not transphobic.

I always said that I stood by my trans sister because I knew they’d be coming for lesbians, like me, next. They didn’t come for me, they came for my wife.

My wife has never involved herself in terf twitter wars, frankly, she’s too nice for it, she’s a kind, thoughtful person. She did nothing to justify having a video, a couple of blog posts and an entire twitter storm made to attack her and mock her appearance, she didn’t know who any of these nasty fuckwits were until after they attacked her, she’s still a bit vague about them.
