Is an Islamic state possible today, or is the very form of the modern state structurally un-Islamic?

Enter the bifurcation of the very concept of a state into its content (mutable) and its form (enduring and ontological).

🧵 Image Modern PolSci studies often obscures this question by conflating two distinct dimensions:

What it is the state does (content) vis a vis what the state is (form).

This conflation, however, renders us blind to the metaphysical structure of modern governance.

“Why follow a madhhab when you have the Qur’an and Sunnah?”

Imam Ibn Uyaynah said:

“Hadiths are a source of error: except for the fuqaha’.”

🧵 A thread on taqlid, ijtihad, and the safety of the Ummah: Image There are people today who mock the study of furu’ , opting to make statements such as:

“I don’t follow madhhabs, I follow the Qur’an and Sunnah.”

This is not humility, rather arrogance dressed as piety.

And the scholars have warned us about this.

Investigating the claim of Ubayy ibn Ka'b's "116 Surah mushaf" as propagated by orientalists and missionaries Image The jealousy of the missionaries, possessing nothing but distorted texts steeped in inaccuracies and fabrications, often leads them to attack the preservation of the Quranic text, irrespective of the historicity, or rather lack thereof, of their assertions.

The Hanafi madhhab on a Woman acting as a judge, some brief notes on Zameelur Rahman’s response: With all due respect to our brothers but this response is extremely weak.

It’s not denied that some Hanafi scholars acknowledged it is sinful for a woman to be a judge but their legal reasoning was based on the Hadith and not the point of “free-mixing”.

Can women be judges? An analysis of the Hanafi position by Dr. Salah Abu al-Hajj (the dean of the Hanafi college in Jordan):

See image description for source👇🏽 See his book: السياسة الراشدة ص. ١٢٠-١٢٢ And what is related to the guardianship of the woman is her being appointed as a judge.

This has been permitted by the Hanafis. Al-Quduri states:

"The judgement of a woman is permitted in everything other than in cases of ḥadd punishments and retaliation."

Sheikh-Al Islam Ibn Taymiyyah said:

"No one doubts his jurisprudence, understanding, and knowledge. And they have attributed things to him intending to defame him, which are certainly lies about him"

A Brief Exposition of 2 Pentateuchal Passages as a Proof of Non-Mosaic Authorship of the Torah - A Thread 🧵

Article linked at the end. Image Of central importance to historical Christian and Jewish rejection of Islam is the idea of biblical corruption wherein Muslims have claimed since Islam’s inception that the Bible is not completely preserved and contains problematic material.

Onomastic Layers of the Qur'an: The Origin of the Prophetic name Lut (لوط) - A Thread 🧵

[Article linked at the end]

We will examine the onomastic element behind the Qur'an's specific editorial choices to indicate the meaning of the name of the prophet even though Muhammad ﷺ was an unlearned man from the desert by self-admission [Q29:48]. This will be a growing series where more instances of such precise diction that is only available to a writer who knows the origins of multiple words from multiple different languages could have known.

Challenging Erroneous Trinitarian Exegesis of Mark 2:7 - A Thread 🧵

The article is linked at the end. This is part of a larger project on correcting faulty gospel exegesis. We are accepting suggestions for specific passages. For now however, only Mark 2:7 will be discussed. Image In the relevant passage, Jesus informs the paralytic his sins are forgiven and the scribes seem to ‘rightly’ assume that Christ is assigning to himself a divine prerogative and is thus blaspheming. This is erroneous on multiple fronts.

Mark's Denial of Mary's Honor - A Comprehensive Thread 🧵

All 'Apostolic' branches of Christianity (eg. RC, EO, OO) agree that Mary is sinless. It is thus imperative that the Bible does not disagree otherwise we run into major issues. The full article is linked at the end. If Mark the evangelist portrays Mary as sinful and as one of the disbelievers then it is certainly an issue regardless of the denomination especially if one adheres to the virgin birth as we expect her to be faithful in her miraculous son who she knows is the Messiah.

We will first summarise our findings before linking the full article at the end. A message to the Christians who allow their religion to be slandered by degenerates:

The ruling on the one who mocks or insults any of the Prophets (AS) or Messengers (AS) from the works of the Ulamah throughout history

🧵 Unlike the pseudo-followers of the Prophet Isa AS, the true religion of the prophets (sealed with the advent of the chosen one ﷺ) refuses to tolerate the mockery of any of the prophets of God (glorified is he)
