I seriously can't think of a more catastrophic idea than Universal Basic Income. Economically, socially, morally UBI is the fast lane to total collapse. If imposed everywhere in the developed world, it will bring us either to a tyranny so horrific it will make every dystopia...

Until last April, Peter Jugis was the bishop of Charlotte, appointed in 2003 under JPII. He is considered "conservative" and TLM-friendly, so the Catholic religion was allowed to grow, esp. after Summorum Pontificum, a document from another "conservative/TLM friendly" prelate...
