This past weekend, we watched as Russia’s aggression continued to displace thousands of families in Ukraine, taking the greatest toll on Ukraine’s children. As we mark the two-year anniversary of the Russian invasion, more than 19,000 Ukrainian children still need to be brought back home from Russia.

Today, I was honored to return to the @StateDept and join @SecBlinken in unveiling my official portrait as 67th Secretary of State.

We're delighted to share it with the American public right here, in case you don't make it in person to headquarters in Foggy Bottom anytime soon. Image Thank you to artist Steven Polson for his phenomenal work.

Of all the trips we took to film Gutsy for @AppleTVPlus, one of the most meaningful was the trip back home to Arkansas. We traveled to the house we first lived in there and talked to women from around the state who took leaps to leave behind the familiar.
tv.apple.com/us/episode/gut… .@canopynwa became part of a national effort to resettle more than 75,000 Afghans who sought refuge when the Taliban took over last year.

In one month, they welcomed 56 new neighbors into 13 homes in Northwest Arkansas.

Join me & @ChelseaClinton as we spend time with women who are forces of nature on @AppleTVPlus's Gutsy.

These are women who surf the seas, rappel down cliffs, and overcome immense obstacles to forge ahead and share their journeys to inspire others.
tv.apple.com/us/episode/gut… Born to immigrant parents, Giselle Carrillo was taught at a young age that the ocean was dangerous. Her determination to conquer her fear led her to learn to surf.

She started Los Courage Camps to encourage the next generation of girls to find their passion too.

.@ChelseaClinton and I took a self-defense class, told stories at @TheMoth, worked wood at @Refoundry, and learned how to make acorn soup—all with women fighting for justice.

Watch "Gutsy" on @AppleTVPlus now.

tv.apple.com/us/episode/gut… Image While starring on @lawandordertv, @Mariska heard from thousands of survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse.

She realized that having someone bear witness to your story is the start of justice. It's why she founded @TheJHF.

The first episode of our new @AppleTVPlus series, #Gutsy, is one of my favorites.

We talked to women who use humor to break down barriers, inspire unity, and—of course—make people laugh.

For @yamaneika, @anylaurie16, and @maysoonzayid, every joke can start a dialogue. Image .@amyschumer has dealt with endometriosis and an extremely tough pregnancy the way she deals with everything—with comedy aplomb.

She shared how she uses comedy to talk about hard things and, in talking about them, lighten the load for herself and her audiences. Image

I can’t believe we’re still talking about this, but my emails…

As Trump’s problems continue to mount, the right is trying to make this about me again. There’s even a “Clinton Standard."

The fact is that I had zero emails that were classified. Comey admitted he was wrong after he claimed I had classified emails.

Trump’s own State Department, under two different Secretaries, found I had no classified emails.

For me, one of the best antidotes to feeling discouraged is supporting people who are running for office. I'm so proud that Onward Together has endorsed 50 candidates and counting in 2022—including some who have worked on my campaigns over the years. 🧵 @Nikki4Congress, the Labor Outreach director on my 2016 campaign and a long-time advocate for working families, is running to represent the 13th district of Illinois. nikkiforcongress.com

What's next?

I think we know what John Lewis would do.

He would never, ever, ever give up. First, adopt a U.S. Senate race in 2022. Volunteer, donate, talk to friends about Dem candidates who will fight for our democracy. It's a tremendous accomplishment that we now have 48 senators in favor of reforming the filibuster to protect voting rights.

We only need two more.

To mark the 20th anniversary of 9/11, I want to invite you in to three conversations I had with people whose lives changed forever that day:

iheart.com/podcast/1119-y… Survivor Debbie St. John recounted her experience—including having the thought that the shoes she was wearing were terrible for running—and shared how she stayed strong on the long road to recovery.

Plug in this weekend to the GOTV efforts of our incredible @OnwardTogether partners.

A thread: .@Alliance4Youth is organizing the early youth vote. Early turnout among younger people is already strong—help the Alliance keep it going by joining their outreach this weekend.

Ending systemic racism will take systemic change.

If you’re in a place to give, donate today to support groups working to end racial injustice, increase the representation of Black people, and fight efforts to suppress Black votes.

Voting is the most precious right of every citizen, and we have a constitutional obligation to ensure the integrity of our process.

@OnwardTogether is proud to announce it will partner with Democracy Docket to protect Americans’ right to vote by mail. onwardtogether.org/voting/ Free and fair access to voting shouldn’t be a partisan issue.

But the reality is that Republican officials are actively seeking to undermine our elections by cutting off voters’ ability to safely cast ballots this fall.

As millions of people around the country pull together to save lives and keep each other healthy, I wanted to take a moment to share what a few of our @OnwardTogether partners and grantees have done to fill gaps in our systems and keep pushing for progress. When the Trump administration threatened to pull out of the Iran deal and impose more sanctions last year, it was clear that we'd lose our leverage and Iran would be free to do what it wanted.

Predictably, Iran is now exceeding enrichment limits the deal once imposed. By withdrawing from the deal, the administration has effectively broken up the international coalition that was unified in constraining Iran, and now Iran is once again increasing its nuclear capability.

I've been heartbroken and horrified to read the news of children at the border being detained in appalling conditions.

No soap, no toothbrushes, no beds.

Not enough food, babies being forced to take care of babies, everyone sick. It's hard to process that our country is committing such abuses—and against children—in our name.

But let's not stop at outrage or heartbreak.

The Trump administration opened a new assault on Americans' health care yesterday by telling a federal appeals court that the entire law should be struck down.

It's a sickening attack on people with pre-existing conditions, seniors, and young people. cnn.com/2019/03/25/pol… The move is a dramatic escalation on the attacks on Obamacare in the courts, even for the Trump administration. Under Jeff Sessions, the Justice Department had argued some parts of the law could stand. Now, all of the law's protections will be at the mercy of conservative judges.

An administration's budget says a lot about what—and, more importantly, who—it values.

So let's talk about the Trump administration's 2020 budget proposal and why it makes clear that this administration doesn’t value seniors, low-income families, and young people. The budget would cut or remove the following over the next decade:

- $845 billion from Medicare
- $241 billion from Medicaid
- $220 billion from the SNAP nutrition program for low-income families
- $207 billion from federal student loan programs

Important legislation introduced yesterday: The Reproductive Rights Are Human Rights Act would correct the Trump administration's dangerous decision to remove reporting on reproductive rights from the State Department's annual reports on human rights practices around the world. Some background:

All branches of the U.S. government use the State Department's human rights reports to shape policy and inform decision-making around diplomacy and allocations of aid and security.

The National @DomesticWorkers Alliance has worked to protect domestic workers, immigrants, women, and their families for more than a decade, and I'm proud to say that NDWA has joined @OnwardTogether as an official partner. Since last summer, @OnwardTogether has raised more than $1.8 million for the groups working to protect the kids and families separated by ICE, including Families Belong Together, NDWA's initiative to fight the Trump administration's family separation policy.
