While you're at home watching your 96th episode of Big Brother I remind you that everything that delights you on TV was not created by tiny TV gnomes but by real human beings who need rent, food, healthcare, and basic necessities.
Your lockdown would have SUCKED without them.
Without TV and film writers, quarantine in this country would have been far worse than it was. If you made it through even remotely sane, it's probably in no small part thanks to the limitless entertainment possibilities on your television.
Act like you respect that.

I remember this article! Yes, it was excellent, and super relevant to current Horror Discourse.
Some non-fans are stuck on the video nasties notion of "horror is only horror if it's sleazy and bloody," and what's terrible about that is /horror fans themselves/ uphold that outside notion by saying if you don't want to watch Texas Chainsaw, you aren't a "real fan."

Look, I'm not jumping into it, but cozy horror is a type of game I've played, kinda like Stardew Valley, but with a horror aesthetic overlay.
Graveyard Keeper comes to mind.
There are no scares. There's a spooky vibe but nothing else. It's not a kids' game.
Most of the people I know who play Stardew--which is notoriously played by adults but CAN be played by kids--would call it cozy.
It's that. With Halloween type graphics.
Not intended to scare. More intended to evoke a mood.
