Despite these shocking numbers, the issue is still not discussed openly enough🧵 Pornography hijacks the brain’s dopamine system, releasing high levels of pleasure chemicals that encourage compulsive behavior. Over time, the brain becomes desensitized, requiring more extreme content to achieve the same effect. This leads to addiction, where the viewer’s mind craves more and more to escape reality.
In fact, a study by the University of Cambridge found that porn addiction can be more harmful than substance abuse in some cases.
