Another week and another classic Togashi banger. This chapter was actually VERY dense, much more so than I was expecting, we got plenty of characterization, some world building and story progression that I wasn't expecting to see until several chapters later.
Illumi Zoldyck is one of the most fascinating characters in Hunter x Hunter.
Even as he fulfills his other, healthier goal, he still ends up feeling empty. Even after his friends provide him with support and make him realize that he has more to live for, he still isolates himself and becomes even more self-destructive.

For a long time now, I've always wanted to talk about this topic at length, but hesitated to do so because of how controversial it was.
Reasons to love episode 131 of Hunter x Hunter are plenty. It is extremely raw, beautifully presented and a revolutionary climax to a revolutionary arc. It masterfully depicts so many extreme emotions between Gon's rage and guilt, Pitou's loyalty and Killua's helplessness.

Through Gon and Killua's case, we see the importance of having people who love you for who you are, and how instead of treating it as the source of value, it should be proof of it. But what happens when those people are taken away? Even more so when it feels like it's your fault?
Killua's lack of self-worth is one of his most defining characteristics, and finding something through which he can see his own value has been his journey since he left his home, a goal which he accomplishes by the end of the story.
I don't think I speak only for myself when I say that Bazett and Angra, along with their relationship are the core of Hollow Ataraxia, and without a doubt one of the best aspects of it, and I want to break down why I think their story is so compelling.
