Can’t wait to take another Twitter break but while we’re in the thick of this once again and some are out there marching, risking their lives, the very least anyone can do is offer vocal support for black lives and against police brutality.
I’m side eyeing some folks who are ardently pro-life but can’t for the life of them manage to say anything of substance.

Parents of neurodivergent children 💘: One thing that might freak you out is when your kid stims on repetitive movies, books, etc. but please let them watch the same episode of Blue’s Clues or have the same story read at bedtime for the sixth straight month. I’ll tell you why:
Living with a brain that makes life harder (too bright, too loud, physically uncomfortable, confusing) is like being tossed balls all day. Sometimes the pitch speed is manageable but most of the times it’s exhausting. A very familiar book, movie or song feels like pressing pause.

Today’s hard to swallow pill: Loving to read doesn’t make an individual more intelligent than a person who doesn’t enjoy books. There is more than one way to absorb information and stories. And there are multiple types of intelligence. 💊
I learned this by observing my children and comparing the different ways they learn and their strengths. This is a generalization, but I’ve found kids who dislike reading find it understimulating and prefer to learn by doing things (physically).

I’ll never get over the audacity of people living on stolen land tilled by kidnapped people talking about “Build a Wall” as if they’re not the danger.
“Build the wall or else they’re going to come in, rape our women, steal our children, claim our land and devastate our nation!” No, that’s what YOU did. You did that.

I actually feel really bad for him. He was used and it feels really bad to wake up to that even when you’re not in the public eye. He must feel humiliated and depressed. Knowing his mental health history and how things changed rapidly after his mother passed, I hope he has people
I hope he has people whose concern for him is unrelated to his earning power, I should say.

I hate the concept of baby carrots so much. There’s nothing “baby” about them. Is a dismembered arm a “baby human.” They should be called “small carrots made from wasting larger carrot good for parties and choking.”
I’m going to start cutting up celery and calling it baby celery. I’m gonna make millions.

Fake allies: “First of all, my housekeeper is black and I trust her around my valuables so stop attacking me.”
Fake allies: “If I were racist I wouldn’t have adopted a black cat. Her name is Zambia.”

It’s ok to like Spider-Man, but he’s not a hero. He doesn’t have a hero’s heart. Neither does Iron Man, to be honest. If your child was in danger would you call Spider-Man, Iron Man or Batman? Be honest. You’d call Batman.
Iron Man would be too busy counting his money and fooling around in his lab. He’d send your call straight to voicemail. Spider-Man would be playing Fortnite or watching Worldstar videos. Batman would come no questions asked because he has A HERO’S HEART.

When someone shows no empathy for parents fleeing life-threatening situations having their children ripped from them, it doesn’t make me mad, it makes me concerned for the state of their soul.
“They should have come the right way.” 1) Claiming asylum is not illegal 2) If you are not Native American, your family is here under fishy circumstances 3) If Justice is such a concern of yours when are you planning to pay African Americans for building this country?

Fuck these shadows and the lies they tell, whispering to gentle hearts in their own voice, skewing reality, weighing down spirits until their body becomes the burning building their soul must jump from
How do you battle an enemy that wears armour made of your skin and scent? One that knows your secrets and has a map of your unhealed wounds? One that doesn’t need sleep or fresh air but instead ravenously hungry for your future?

You try to raise your kids right but at the end of the day they’re going to make their own mistakes. It’s hard to watch them fail but when my 5 y/o told me he wanted a Spider-Man birthday party even though this is a DC family I made the decision to love him the way he is.
Is it going to be easy to watch him put on the red and black mask of a boy who should be in jail for criminal negligence regarding the death of the uncle who opened his home to him when he had no one? No. Am I going to keep my mouth shut? Also no
