During combat in Shejaiya, the IDF mistakenly identified 3 Israeli hostages as a threat and as a result, fired toward them and the hostages were killed. 1/1 Their bodies were transferred to Israeli territory for examination where it was confirmed that they were 3 Israeli hostages and were identified:

Yotam Haim, who was kidnapped from Kibbutz Kfar Aza by the Hamas terrorist organization on October 7.
Samer Talalka, who was kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Am by the Hamas terrorist organization on October 7.
The third hostages’ family has been notified and requested that his name will not be broadcasted.

On Saturday, Hamas brutally massacred over 700 Israelis.

The @IAFsite is conducting one of the largest air strikes ever against Hamas in Gaza to degrade and destroy their ability to terrorize the people of Israel.

Hamas launched a war. We will restore security to our country. Between Saturday and Monday morning, over 1,200 targets were hit by Israeli aircraft across the Gaza Strip, including weapons storage and manufacturing sites, command and control centers, rocket launchers and more.

Today we doubled that number.

🔴Since 12 am yesterday, in response to the brutal terrorist offensive against Israel launched by Hamas, the IDF carried out the following operational activities in Gaza: 1/4 🔻00:00 am: IDF aircraft struck a concealed launch site and targeted 2 terrorists near it.

Terrorists attempting to infiltrate Israeli territory from the sea and through the security fence were targeted by IDF aircraft.

We also struck an operational command center of the Hamas rocket system operatives and an operational command post belonging to the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization. 2/4

During a counterterrorism activity last week, 2 of the assailants were apprehended in Nablus. This week, 3 wanted suspects were identified by the ISA in a hideout apartment in Nablus.

IDF and Israeli security forces operated in the Jenin camp yesterday.

The security forces apprehended 18 wanted individuals, among them three wanted individuals suspected of terrorist activity in Jenin. 1/6 During the activity, suspects hurled explosives and fired heavily at the soldiers. The suspects also hurled Molotov cocktails at the forces from various areas, including roofs of houses. The soldiers responded with live fire toward the armed suspects identified in the area. 2/6

IDF Chief of the General Staff LTG Aviv Kohavi strongly condemns any use of unnecessary violence, physical or verbal. 1/4 Earlier today, an altercation occurred between IDF soldiers and civilians in Hebron. The soldiers’ actions were severe, defying IDF values. Soldiers are required to perform tasks with optimal precision, while maintaining IDF values and human dignity. 2/4

IDF and Israeli security forces raided a hideout apartment in the Kasbah of Nablus used as a headquarters and explosives manufacturing site by the main operatives of the “Lion’s Den” terrorist group. The forces detonated the explosive manufacturing site. 1/5 During the activity, multiple armed suspects were hit and Palestinian reports indicate there were multiple injuries. Dozens of Palestinians also burned tires and hurled rocks at the troops. The troops responded with live fire toward the armed suspects shooting at them. 2/5

IDF and Israeli security forces conducted counterterrorism activities in Judea & Samaria overnight and this morning.

During the activity, Diaa Muhammad Yusef Salama, a Hamas operative residing in the Jenin Camp, was apprehended while carrying an M-16 rifle in his possession. 1/4 Salama is responsible for carrying out recent attacks against Israeli security forces & planned to carry out additional attacks.

Our security forces also located a military vest and an M-16 rifle in the area.
In addition, during the activity, two suspects were apprehended. 2/4

A violent riot was instigated by dozens of Palestinians near the town of Al-Zaitounah earlier today. The rioters acted violently & hurled rocks toward the community of Harasha & IDF & Israeli security forces in the area.

An IDF soldier was lightly injured. 1/4 The forces responded with riot dispersal means to restore order in accordance with standard operating procedures, including using live fire toward the two main rioters. Hits were identified. 2/4

74 years later: The bodies of two fallen 'Palmach' soldiers, whose burial places were previously unknown, have finally been located.

The bodies of PVT Binyamin Eisenberg and PVT Yitzhak Rubinstein went missing during the War of Independence in 1948. 1/4 In 1952, they were declared fallen soldiers with unknown burial places by the Chief Military Rabbi.

In an investigation carried out by the special EITAN Unit of the IDF between 2012-2018, it was revealed their bodies were buried in a mass grave in Kibbutz Nitzanim. 2/4

The second-annual multilateral cyber defense exercise “Techflag”, held by the Israel Defense Forces Joint Cyber Defense Division in cooperation with US Cyber Command and the British Army’s Cyber Protection Teams, has ended. 1/4 Observers from the Canadian Cyber Forces and the Australian Joint Cyber Directorate also took part in the defensive cyber exercise. 2/4

An IAF fighter jet and an Israeli Navy missile ship intercepted 3 hostile UAVs from Lebanon which approached the airspace over Israel’s economic waters today. 1/4 The UAVs were identified by detection systems and monitored by ground control units throughout their flight. The UAVs were identified at an early stage and intercepted at the optimal operational point. 2/4

In recent weeks, Palestinian and Arab Israeli terrorists carried out deadly attacks in Israeli cities.

These terrorists killed Israelis who were at a gas station, a bus stop, outside a market, in their cars and at a bar in Tel Aviv. All of them were murdered in cold blood. 🧵 In response to this wave of terrorist attacks in Israel, we are engaged in precise operations based on accurate intelligence against those suspected of planning or assisting terrorist attacks.

1/4 Israel has successfully completed the first series of live-fire tests of the 'C-Dome'—an advanced naval configuration of the Iron Dome Aerial Defense System—aboard the Israeli Navy Ship Sa’ar 6 ‘Magen’ Class Corvette. 2/4 The ‘C-Dome’ was developed by the Israel Missile Defense Organization in the Directorate for Defense R&D of @Israel_MoD together with the IDF & @RafaelDefense.
