In a not insignificant way this also has to be intended to undermine the authority of *ALL* adults in the eyes of these children.

Consider this:

If you're a child and you see adults acting like this of their own free will and other adults are actively cheering this on as well as condoning it and archiving it with photos it inherently undermines the stability of all adults. Then, when an actual sane adult attempts to guide these children to healthier behaviors it will be seen as some sort of manipulation by deviants as well.
