Making good art takes time & effort. The phrase "Time is money" exists for a reason. People who struggle to pay bills & put food on their table obviously will have less time & other resources to invest in making art.
And then there's finding an audience, maybe the hardest part.

@TheManlet_King likes to talk a lot about edgekino. The oughts were the 2nd age of edgekino in anime & manga. The 1st was obviously in the 80's.
The 2nd one had more focus on goyrls.

Stine has written a lot of stinkers, & even his gems have a lot of rough edges, but funnily enough, a good way to judge his talents is compare his stinkers to others in adolescent pulp horror.
The book on the left is terrible (I did a short thread on some of the major problems) & might be Stine's worst, but it's also creative & weird, in a stupid way. It's still interesting.
The book on the right from MD Spenser's Shivers is HIS worst & is pure filler. A nothing book.

I have to give some criticisms here.
Non-political Wikipedia articles are still quite reliable. Political Wikipedia articles either cite popularized lies from the MSM, have "technically true" but misleading info, or are accurate if there's no western left motive to manipulate.

In short, Wikipedia, like once-popular "fact-checker" sites, aren't worthless to the discerning reader, even though much of their content is designed to mislead the NON-discerning reader.
As for fan-wikis, those can be started by anyone & say anything, so...

Moral guardians fill an inevitable vacuum of society, but when moral guardians are amateur volunteers, most of them end up being stupid people & attack "vibes" without understanding WHY wrong things are wrong.

Character issues, a couple examples I didn't think much of when I was a dumb kid:
In Back to Before, Jake decides to erase the whole series & for them never to get powers, dooming the human race to slavery by alien slugs. Major character derailment to make Cassie look better.

As I said earlier, I've been revisiting some of RL Stine's work. I re-read one of the best Goosebumps books earlier, & to follow it up I decided to read what might be the worst.
What makes Be Afraid so bad? Lots of things, but probably most notoriously: YOU FINISH THE STORY. 1/ Stine has claimed that when he writes a Goosebumps book he writes a 10 page outline. I think he or his ghostwriter must've skipped that step for this one, because the way the plot meanders & the bizarre twists it takes seem unplanned. 2/

One thing that really separates Tatsuya Endo from like 99% of writers today is that he can write a character whose motives are batshit insane yet give her a thru-line of logic that you can empathize with, without resorting to 1 dimensional torture porn in her backstory.
I obviously don't APPROVE of Princess Izumiya's goal of building "a true mountain of corpses" (literally her goal is just death on a massive scale), but I get WHY she thinks this way. The progression feels realistic. No small feat when the end is such crazy villain territory.

So it turns out that the trans youth whose supporters claim was "bullied into suicide" was making suicide posts for a long time & his supporters responded with... support. Support for his suicidal attitude, not support as in encouraging him to feel better.
Yeah.
