I am a petite white woman. The last time I was in the subway—sept 3, my debit card malfunctioned. I wasn’t carrying credit cards. I went to go station agent, and she waved me through the first turnstile, without charge. Who is a “criminal” and who rides free is … …race & class-inflected, ALL the WAY.

This Ellen Greenberg story is horrific, a reminder that some ppl have a license to kill, and that our legal system is a farce wherein some technicality can ALWAYS be employed to enforce power unjustly She was stabbed 20 times, including 10 strikes to the back of her head and neck. Two of these strikes were so deep and violent they penetrated her spinal cord and brain…and generated no hemorrhaging

Here’s my PSA on sepsis again: if you have ANY kind of a wound & then experience fever or flu/cold symptoms, RUN don’t walk to the ER. This is a MAJOR killer, and it is SWIFT. You might feel a bit eh & not that bad, and have an hour left before amputation or death. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Why would persistent covid infection after mrna suck? Would it just be some fatigue-causing malaise thing for most ppl? 1. First we have to talk about Everything You Know About HIV is Probably Wrong…

Maybe one thing not commonly understood & not explained well to public is: your immune system is…not unlimited. It’s finite in key ways. Immunologists say “naive cells” and they all know what that means & think we do too…

A lot of ppl are asking this. My understanding is: no, memory B cells can’t be reprogrammed/ are “refractory to reprogramming,” but I am not an immunologist It can be done with CRISPR gene editing maybe elifesciences.org/articles/42995

Lemme see if I can explain this simply… 1. What is an immunoglobulin?: “Immunoglobulins (antibodies) are made by B cells and plasma cells. The immune system makes antibodies that are specific for each disease-causing agent and can learn to make specific antibodies to a new virus…”

NY’s whole judiciary is a corrupt racket run by mob-aligned dem party creeps like Seddio & Carone. @EDNYnews shoukd have cleaned it out after Torres-Lopez’ Supreme Court case @EDNYnews Just getting rid of a “bad apple” every once in a while isn’t going to cut it. Take out the whole Tammany infestation and start over

I think a lot of ppl with the critical reading skills to question feints like “experts say…” are less inclined to do so with a trusted source like the NYT… In 5-7th grade one learns you cannot do this in an essay. WHICH experts say, hmm?

I’m going to do a point by point analysis of this NYT article. Because I like Alexandra, and she’s super witty & smart. (So if she believes this, it’s worth effort to debunk…) “ The subvariant of Omicron is not yet causing a new surge in the United States and probably won’t.”
LOL WTF—it’s causing surges all over Europe where BA.1 just surged. Name one surge that hit the UK & didn’t hit the US a few weeks later like clockwork

I’ll do 5. (Then tell me yours). This one is good, but has to be modified in key ways... epicurious.com/recipes/food/v… I added this one as a staple when I was trying to learn to cook for a man and a toddler, as well as myself. These are the key modifications:

While I’m obsessing about cooking (in a winter funk) allow me to share my two favorite recipes of all time... 1. This date cake. No, srsly. And I am a “dark chocolate or nothing” devotee. It takes some work (and a food processor for the dates) but it’s without compare; perfection.

Let’s remind ourselves of what was so bad about delta, what made it so much more pathogenic: it was fusogenic. Via something called “syncytia.” Syncytia fuses cells. It turns your lungs into a glump. BA.2 is also fusogenic via syncytia. And BA.2 is more contagious than omicron. It is basically the Pi variant: more contagious than omicron, as fusogenic as delta.

Great. The dark red you see is where I live. Also, where omicron started—the Javits anime convention last Nov. Hello, BA.2 explosion These midtown zipcodes include the central NYC transportation hub: the 42nd st station sees the most action, and trains from every borough feed there

WHAT ARE T CELLS ANYWAY & WHERE ARE THEY? Are they lying in wait like superheroes, to save all the days? No... “T lymphocytes originate from bone marrow progenitors that migrate to the thymus for maturation, selection, and subsequent export to the periphery. Peripheral T cells comprise different subsets including naïve T cells, which have the capacity to respond to new antigens..”
