Raisi’s death can be a blessing for the Islamic Republic and give “Supreme Leader” Ali Khamenei an opportunity to rectify past mistakes. Some facts: 1- Raisi was an inefficient and uncharismatic man who, in his three years as president, showed that he was an awful manager and a horrible public speaker. Raisi disappointed even many of his own supporters.
2- Many prominent figures in the Islamic Republic either come from a prominent religious family, like Ali Larijani, whose father was a grand ayatollah, or Javad Zarif, whose father was a rich merchant, or have revolutionary guard backgrounds and have developed friendships in the force, like Ahmadinejad and Ghalibaf.
