“The report in the media was incorrect as the motion was defeated and so falls and the timetable set out in the motion no longer applies,” said @DubCityCouncil They added: “We have had almost 3,000 submissions and the 2:1 in favour was from a week before the closing date and may now be a lot closer, we are starting the process of examining the submissions and preparing a report on the consultation and the next steps with the project...”

Towns don’t get enough coverage on IrishCycle.com and it’s time to start to fix that. Here’s a thread covering the example of the Killala Road in Ballina (where I live).... Tweeted about this earlier but it’s a great and high profile example of other cities also getting strong opposition to changes: Paris also answers the often asked “where will all the traffic go” — as other cities have proven, it “evaporates”... in other words, there’s modal change and pollution goes down.
