This is the black heart of Maritime Admiralty Law, the law of the sea. Not a metaphorical sea, but a system that treats living souls as cargo, ships them through life as dead entities, and profits from them like cattle on a financial farm. This system is older than the nations that enforce it, more deeply embedded than any constitution, and more invisible than any prison.
