sahana&nadaswaram r made 4 each other! Got this video in FB 2day morning of an unsung vidwan playing sahana raga alapana in an unknown temple in TN, unmindful of happenings around him & fully engrossed in the alapana! This was so much soul-satisfying, I skipped my breakfast!

IDOL WORSHIP IN THE VEDAS/HINDUISM – CANNOT THE ALMIGHTY HAVE FORM?

Many years back a fierce debate was triggered by a Zakir Naik whose videos in YouTube claimed the practice of idol worship is alien to Hinduism citing vedic reference. The debate abated after many hindus 1/n voicing opinion for & against idol worship. Though such debates have been on for aeons the purpose & aim of such people outside the hindu community trying to spread misinformation by triggering such debates in public forums it seems, was never realised by our Hindu brethren. 2/n

These are my ruminations after seeing the plight of some academically brilliant but jobless engineering graduates who nevertheless have to start repaying their edu loan! Its already 9 months after graduating yet they have not landed a job! Reason, 1/n no campus recruitment in their college & many companies refuse to take freshers ! The youth who are the future citizens of this country will be ever grateful if the so called campus selection of students by the pvt sector companies is regulated by bringing in reforms. 2/n

அடுப்பங்கரையிலும் அமெரிக்காவிலும், புரோகிதராகவும், பிரொபஷனலாகவும், தமிழ் எழுத்தளாராகவும், நுனி நாவில் ஆங்கிலம் பேசுவராகவும், பழுத்த ஆத்திகராகவும், கம்யூனிஸ்டாக… பல தளங்களில் பரந்து விரிந்தோம்.

அமெரிக்கா போனாலும் ‘ஆத்து’ பாஷை. எங்கெங்கு சென்றாலும், உலகெங்கும் 1/n தமிழ் சங்கம் வளர்த்தோம். தமிழ் நூல்கள் எழுதினோம். தமிழை ‘செந்தமிழ்’ முதலில் சொன்னோம். தேடி தேடி பழந்தமிழ் இலக்கியம் சேகரித்தோம். திடீரென ஒருவன் “நீ தமிழனில்லை” என்றான். முதலில் திகைத்து பிறகு சிரித்து சமாளிக்க கற்றோம்.

அரசாங்க வேலை உன்னதம் என்றே நம்பினோம். 2/n
