"Long COVID" is misinformation. The term is empirically inaccurate & should not be used. It is post-viral symptomatology, is not unique to COVID, & has been observed in the course of medical history many times. It is predominately almost certainly psychosomatic. jdhaltigan.com/p/understandin…Image

SciAM & racism 🧵. (inspired by racist food from @feelsdesperate ). I literally had to stop as I reached X threshold. @sciam is an absolutely ideologically captured disgrace. Image

Brief🧵. As a methodologist & nosologist myself, I want to highlight how "heterogeneity" across psychiatric phenomena is being abused by ideologues to launder the acceptance of a reality with no limits to 'living one's authentic self.' Image 2/ By using this reality of heterogeneity across virtually all human phenomena & experience to abolish limiting categorical constraints, we end up living in a world with no limiting principles or way of articulating someone is 'disordered' or 'deviant.'

🧵Here is insight into how Wokeism works at the macrosocial level in mental health: Elite Wokes understand that in almost all cases, personality and psychopathology are continuous, dimensional constructs. It is *true* that save for biological sex, one can not 'carve nature at its joints.' The Woke radical activists then launder this empirical truth as evidence that 'categorical' systems (e.g., the DSM for mental illnesses) are always social-political constructions & therefore need abolished--that is, "liberated from." They even try to do this with biological sex, with is insane. Herein lies the focus on 'power structures.

It is remarkable to me--given its importance in psychiatry, psychology, & medicine especially, how religiously social scientists cling to the notion that 'self-identified race/ethnicity' is a 'social construct' with no tether to biological reality (genetic ancestry). Image

🧵 1/n. New communication piece by myself & colleagues discussing the increasingly plausible role of social media as an incubator of personality & behavioral mental illness symptomatology. sciencedirect.com/science/articl… 2/n. There has been a recent concerning trend of children & adolescents presenting with psychiatric impairments coincident with the use of various algorithmic social media platforms.
