Speaking to a lot of my black friends and these last couple of days have really taken their toll: headaches, nausea, migraines, uncontrollable crying, anxiety, depression, despair, etc. A lot of emotions that non-black folk are grappling with (rage, horror, fear, hopelessness, more rage) are stuff that many black people live their whole lives with. We just push stuff down, press them to the side so that we can continue to "function" on a day to day.
