Alert: Today @NBCNews reported that the Biden admin is planning to send Haitian migrants trying to seek safety in the US to a third country and/or to the ICE detention center in Guantánamo Bay, Cuba. New: ICE paid $15 million to private prison giant GEO group for expulsion flights of 15,000 #Haitians. Contract was no-bid, goes through 10/6.

GEO group is profiting off the biggest racist mass expulsion in recent history sam.gov/opp/91706b03fe… ImageImage To put in in comparison - the UN sought $15 million for relief in Haiti in August. Instead, the Biden admin gave GEO group $15 million for mass expulsion flights.

There are 1,181 people in ICE detention with active COVID cases under isolation or monitoring. That's a terrifying increase from around 400 when Biden took office (thread 1/10) Numbers of people detained by ICE have gone up. They were as as low as 13,890 at the end of Feb, now more than 15,000 people are detained in ICE jails & facilities across the country (2/10)
