After joining the US Investing Championship again this year, a lot of people asked me:

“How did you pull off a triple-digit return in the first half of 2025, when the market was crashing?”

Here’s the story:

In March, I was shorting actively because there were just too many clean short setups popping up.

Then in early April, the Nasdaq touched its 200-week moving average. That’s strong support.
I closed all my shorts and flipped long, focusing only on the strongest leaders outperforming the market.

April and May were all about building long exposure. I stayed 100% on the long side until recently, when I went back to a long-short approach.

My trading methods aren’t secret. You can learn most of them from books or YouTube.

But if there’s one thing I take seriously, it’s this:

Trade what you see, not what you think.

One of my teammates, Oasis, turned this whole experience into a song.
Her boyfriend, a very talented musician, made it into a real track.
Our team then spent over a month producing a full MV.

This song pretty much sums up my first-half journey in 2025.
Hope you enjoy it 👇

#USIC2025 #USInvestingChampionship Some people asked if I only joined US Investing Championship after the market bottomed in April.

The theory goes: I “cleverly” avoided the crash, joined at the lows, and rode the rebound to triple-digit returns.

Funny enough, most of these comments came from my own city — Hong Kong.
We’re not just good at trading here, apparently we’ve got some imaginative storytelling talent too 😅

I actually signed up on Feb 2, 2025 (a Sunday), so my results started from February.
Yes, I was late by a month, but unfortunately for me, not late enough to dodge the March crash.
That’s when I was doing all those short trades I mentioned earlier.

Honestly, I wasn’t planning to join USIC again this year.
But after winning last year, I saw a few people saying I just got lucky.
And again, those voices — you guessed it — came from my own hometown.😅

So I thought, why not show up one more time?

Not here to prove anyone wrong.
Just here to keep sharpening my edge, share what I can, and have a little fun while I’m at it.

This year I only entered the MMVR division. Judy Lai didn't compete.Image

Honored to win the 2024 U.S. Investing Championship ($1M+ accounts) with a return of 353.9%, setting a new all-time record in this division. 🙏🏻🎉
Below are some reflections after winning this competition. I hope they can inspire and provide value for your future investing and trading journey.👇🏼⛽️Image 1️⃣ Background and Starting Point Don’t Define You

Where you come from doesn’t matter—even if you start with very little. With the right mindset and hard work, anyone can step onto the world stage.

I grew up in a grassroots family in Hong Kong 🇭🇰 with no wealth or connections. My father was a driver, and my mother worked as a sales assistant, but they gave me the best foundation—a safe and loving home. 🏠

Everyone has unlimited potential. Believe in the greatness of every individual, including yourself. 🫵🏼

Currently in 1st place in the 2024 US Investing Championship (1 Million Dollar Division) with +308.6% YTD and 5th place in the 20K Dollar Division with 339.1% through Nov 30th. 📊

As a trader with 15 years of experience, I’d like to share a realistic perspective on trading and the competition.

Here’s a breakdown: 👇Image

300%+ Returns Aren't My Usual Annual Performance

If I could achieve 3x returns every year, even starting with just $1 million, I’d be wealthier than Elon Musk in 12 years—this isn’t realistic. The #USInvestingChampionship is about showcasing your trading skills to the world, proving you can manage others' money or teach them to invest. I entered the competition for this purpose, using every trading technique I could to achieve triple-digit returns, including leverage.
