NGL it's incredibly funny that i accidentally made a viral tweet (by saying something entirely unprofound, which anyone who has read Bad Blood is fully equipped to say), and now as a treat twitter is sprinkling Algorithm Sauce on my other posts that are much less useful & salient haha silly algorithm i'm still feral and incomprehensible

febreezing a fursuit is, very literally, the opposite of cleaning it

it doesn't break down smelly molecules at all. the febreeze molecule (shown below) traps the odor molecule inside it's ring, so it can't hit scent receptors as easily. and WATER will release it from the trap! chemical structure of beta-... when you febreeze your fursuit you're using a corn sugar polymer to create a claymore mine of stench, set to detonate the next time you get even mildly sweaty in that thing

if you followed me just for the Holmes / Theranos thread, welcome, but please know that is a minor one of my many special interests, over a broad range of subject areas, not all of which you'll enjoy (i promise you). my posts are like a casserole made of everything in my fridge also i'm more, "a person existing online" than, "a self-styled source of information" so adjust your expectations accordingly

for every glowing puff piece you see trying to rehabilitate Elizabeth Holmes's image, i want you to remember something

she personally approved a 15 month clinical trial using a device she knew to be useless, to measure cancer drug levels in the blood of terminal cancer patients “They tested the devices on a bunch of cancer patients in Tennessee,” Stewart said. “There were actually people who had terminal cancer, and they were told they’re going into remission, even though they weren’t. It’s really, really messed up.

one material reality i never see anti self Dx people try to acknowledge: if you live in the US, your healthcare is dictated by what someone w no medical training in a call center thinks will save your insurance the most money, as much as it's dictated by what a Dr thinks you need ofc medical expertise isn't useless, my physical health stuff wouldn't have been figured out w/o professional help
but telling people they can't have hunches/ know anything about themselves just dissuades self advocacy and puts them further away from getting better by any means
