Health care for COVID is SAFE FOR ALL to use, regardless of immigration status (even if tests/care are limited now). USCIS clarified COVID care/testing NOT part of public charge test + ICE said they're not doing immigration enforcement at hospitals/medical facilities. (links) 1/ ALERT! USCIS encourages all those, including aliens, w/ symptoms...(fever, cough, shortness of breath) to seek necessary medical treatment/preventive services. BREAKING: My answers on current version (3ET) of COVID-19 3.0 bill + immigrants. 3 major qs I'm getting from Congress and advocates. Does bill provide:
1.) HEALTH CARE for ALL immigrants? [no]
2.) UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE for ALL [no];
3.) CASH BENEFITS [no] more below... 1/ 1.) UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE (UI) is a federal benefit only for work-authorized immigrants (includes current DACA/TPS ). UI requires you to be “ready, willing, and able to work,” so doesn’t include undocumented workers. Relief bill doesn't change that. 2/
