I had a great call with a studio exec friend. This man worked on 2 of my films. He was the one who emailed me “LETS MAKE A MOVIE” on my passion project. I was talking about how hard it is on “this side” of the business and he said “its hard on this side too, Jaime…”
I sat up.
Because he was the YES, right so…
He spoke about slates and how hard execs have to fight for their projects and about how writers get fired, actors drop out, directors go over budget. He spoke about ever changing mandates and agents who make his days impossible.
