1/ As the grifters are currently in the process of grifting Austin, TX, let's take a moment to remember that the great state of Texas really does not care if Tesla breaks its laws. Tesla has broken them before and probably sees Texas as a suitable location. $TSLAQ 2/ A while back I stumbled upon a portion of the Tesla website that would provide details on Model 3 vehicles held in inventory. Of the details served to their website they included a field "MetroName" which was the location of the vehicle in inventory.

1/ It's been ~2 months since @TeslaCharts highlighted irregularities in the model 3 VIN sequence. Most obvious, the huge gap in the 140k range spanning thousands. Over time more and more data has become available, most recently inventory data. $TSLA
2/ Title 49 CFR 565 outlines the requirements for each portion of the VIN. §565.16(3) states "…positions 12 through 17 shall represent the number sequentially assigned by the manufacturer in the production process.." $TSLA

Tesla has an inventory problem. There is a massive amount of 2018 Model 3 vehicles available for immediate delivery in the US. Here is a list of nearly 11,000 model 3s we've found.
